Failing is only one way to think about it

A commonly told story about Thomas Edison and the invention of the lightbulb is he was asked about failing a thousand times before he found the right substance for the filament, the little wire that glows bright inside the old incandescent bulbs.

He responded, “I haven’t failed a thousand times; I’ve found a thousand ways that don’t work.”
